Starting Up Selling Wood
I have been reading Alan Sugar's autobiography and I am truly outstanded by the work he had managed to do without the resources I have such as the internet, when he was my age, just 12.
A friend of mine sells chocolate and sweets on the bus to school, one time that stand out is when I watched him sell a £2.00 product for £6.00. What an outstanding business achievement I thought, but he tells how he does this all the time and i have been watching lately, he has taught me a few tricks but doesn't want me stealing his audience, so because he's a friend I refuse to do so, i know the business side of me is saying, lower the price by 50p and you'l get his audience and one of your on combined but I have a much better idea...
In my garage we were going to throw hundreds of good wood that we don't need anymore, but I'm going to sell it along with door hinges that were going to be thrown too. I have spent years learning woodwork and how to fix things, I can fix a bike inside out with my eyes closed so to be sure that it does not go to waste, I notice the wood could have something done with it to improve the presentation, so I'm filing it and then rubbing it over with sand paper, it looks great, good as new, literally!
I am going to put posters up advertising the wood, saying to call my number if you are interested in buying and I could arrange a meeting with you, the poster also includes the size and condition of the wood.
