Cec Plascott's Story: Why Not to Start Up in School

Entrepreneur means risk taker right? Well I suppose that's what it's all about, what separates entrepreneurs from normal people are the decisions they are prepared to make. Like any kid, I've got big ideas for the future, in fact, scrap that I got plans on the way already!
But everyone has to start somewhere, and like thousands of other kids, I went into the sweet business. It wasn't anything serious, here's the business plan: Buy sweets from local shop, if I'm lucky pop down to the cash and carry for wholesale price, and then rip the kids off at school. On some products I was making a 100% return, so I wasn't doing to badly!
To cut a long story short I was quite literally hunted down by the Head, who then shut me down. What did I do? Be glad with the money I made and move on? Nope. This is where you can learn a little lesson from my story: Persistence will gain you respect, and show you're not a pushover.
However sometimes you can't win, knowing when to stop is as great a skill as learning not to give up. Sounds a little hypocritical huh? When you have to chose between selling sweets and your education then you'll get what I'm saying.
It wasn't long before I noticed that I wasn't going to lead the normal 9 to 5 life, I was going to make my own future and success. Once I had that figured out I got a job and saved and saved. Now I'm currently working on my own online company.
On a final note, I'd just like to say one thing: cut the crap. Any of you out there making up excuses for not following your dreams, think about this, if you don't try you don't succeed, never assume what is and isn't possible, as life is to unpredictable.
